The Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB) is soliciting proposals for the management and control of Carrizo cane (Arundo donax) and other noxious vegetation along the Rio Grande River. Services will include herbicide application and mechanical control in accordance with the specifications and the terms and conditions contained in this Request for Proposals (RFP).
The objective of this project is to reduce Carrizo cane canopy and density, improve law enforcement access and visibility along the international border, restore riparian ecosystems, conserve water resources, and protect agricultural operations by reducing cattle fever tick habitat.
Contractors must demonstrate at least five years of professional experience in the required services identified in the RFP. Services will be performed in designated counties along the Texas side of the Rio Grande.
Vendor Q and A: All questions must be submitted by email to Paula Raymond at praymond@tsswcb.texas.gov by October 15, 2025, 5:00 PM CT. Official responses will be posted to the ESBD on October 22, 2025. Only written responses posted on ESBD will be considered official.
Interested vendors are encouraged to review the full RFP document (592-26-RFP001) for the complete scope, specifications, required qualifications, and submission instructions. Proposals are due October 30, 2025, no later than 5:00 PM CT.
