Two orphan wells in Scurry County are actively leaking produced water to the surface. The wells are located near the county airport, a nature park, and developed housing. The affected area measures approximately 10 feet by 10 feet. Requesting emergency funds to plug both wells. The Lubbock District office in three contacted three (3) vendors that could provide the services and selected the vendor that could respond immediately and was the best value for the State of Texas.
