HHSC PCS is seeking competitive bids to establish contract(s) for Infant Passenger Car Seats for grants for the program Safe Riders linked to Chapter 25, Traffic Operations, Title 43 Administrative Code, Subchapter M - TRAFFIC SAFETY PROGRAM (25.901-25.913) ; The long-term goal of the program is to reduce traffic crashes and the resulting deaths, injuries, and property damage to the lowest possible level. These items are directly linked to our grant funding from the Texas Department of Transportation to distribute car seats to low-income families in Texas, as outlined in the grant. Safe Riders partners with 66 distribution sites across the state of Texas to educate families and distribute car seats. Certified child passenger safety technicians from the distribution sites, trained to educate and install car seats to families in the community, hold an education session and distribute car seats to eligible families that attend the class.
