Hydrocarbons are actively leaking from an unidentified well within an RV Park in Loving County. Requesting EPO funds to plug the leaking well. Original funds in the amount of $250,000.00 were approved on May 10, 2023, to begin state managed plugging operations. Additional funds are needed to cover costs on the final invoice. Additional costs were incurred with multiple orders of heavy kill mud, fishing equipment, setting new casing, and hauling fluids. The District office in Midland contacted five (5) vendors that could provide the services and selected the vendor that could respond immediately and was the best value for the State of Texas.
