Two orphan wells are actively leaking produced water near a county road in Reeves County. The affected areas measure approximately 74 feet by 52 feet and 78 feet by 64 feet. Chlorides measured 52,351 ppm. Requesting emergency PA funds to have a roustabout crew attempt to fix both wells and build a pit with a liner. Orphaned wells are inactive, non-compliant wells that have been inactive a minimum of 12 months and the responsible operator's Organizational Report (Form P-5) has been delinquent for greater than 12 months. The District office in Midland contacted the vendor that could provide the services and selected the vendor that could respond immediately and was the best value for the State of Texas.
