An unidentified well in Ward County is actively leaking produced water to the surface. The affected area measures approximately 1200 feet by 7500 feet and there is H2S present. The flow is traveling down County Road 140, and the rate is estimated at 50,000 barrels per day. Chlorides tested 45,000 ppm. Requesting emergency funds to contain/haul fluids and excavate to locate well. The Midland District office contacted three (3) vendors that could provide the services and selected the vendor that could respond immediately and was the best value for the State of Texas.
