An orphan well in Ward County is actively leaking hydrocarbons and produced water to the surface. The affected area measures approximately 1,000 feet by 1,000 feet and chlorides tested at 41,482 ppm. Requesting emergency PA funds to have a roustabout crew attempt to shut in the leaking well and haul the leaked fluids until state managed plugging crews can get a rig to the location. The district office in Midland contacted three (3) vendors that could provide the services and selected the vendor that could respond immediately and was the best value for the State of Texas.
