An unidentified well in Scurry County is actively leaking produced water at a rate of 50 barrels per hour. The affected area measures approximately 50 feet by 200 feet and chlorides tested 71,111 ppm. Requesting additional emergency PA funds to continue hauling fluids until a rig can move into the location and plug the well. Original funds in the amount of $40,000.00 were approved on June 10, 2024. The Lubbock District office contacted three (3) vendors that could provide the services and selected the vendor that could respond immediately and was the best value for the State of Texas.
