An orphan well in Pecos County is actively leaking produced water at an unknown rate. The affected area measures approximately 723 feet by 15 feet, and chlorides tested 41,482 ppm. Requesting emergency PA funds to build a pit, haul fluids, and have a roustabout crew attempt to fix well. Orphaned wells are inactive, non-compliant wells that have been inactive a minimum of 12 months and the responsible operator's Organizational Report (Form P-5) has been delinquent for greater than 12 months. The Midland District office contacted three (3) vendors that could provide the services and selected the vendor that could respond immediately and was the best value for the State of Texas.
