The Texas Historical Commission seeks a generalcontractor firm that has documented experience with projects of the type, scaleand scope described in this RFP. Contractor must have a MINIMUM of 8 yearsβexperience in construction similar to the type of work required by theseContract Documents (as judged by THC) to be eligible for contract award. THCrequires all work to comply with all applicable Federal and State laws, codes,and standards.
The Eisenhower Birthplace Home is a two-story craftsmanhouse at the Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site and was built in 1877. Thehome is of wood frame construction featuring three prominent roof gables on thefront faΓ§ade. The dining room and kitchen are under a single-storyroof at the back of the house. The scope of work involves theremoval and disposal of the existing wood roof shingles and the replacementwith new wood roof shingles. Associated sheet metal flashing willalso be replaced with new material. Additional information regardingproject scope and details is further defined in the project specifications andconstruction documents. Refer to the project specifications and constructiondocuments provided in Exhibit M-Construction Drawings.
This solicitation will include a submittal of company experience and qualifications focusing on projects of similar size and type, and their pricing. Respondents will be evaluated as described in Paragraph 3.10 Scoring Criteria.
A Mandatory Site Visit is required to familiarize yourself with the site conditions and characteristics. The respondent must return the Exhibit N-Site Visit Form, signed by both the respondent and the site representative, to confirm that the respondent attended the Mandatory On-Site Visit.
